The Lake Purrumbete Angling Club is looking forward to the return of its twilight fishing competition.

Open to all, including non-club members, the event will be held on Friday January 5, 12, 19 and 26.

Entry fee is just $5, with registrations to open at the clubrooms at 5pm with the weigh-in at 8.30pm.

The total prize money will be divided evenly between the winner of the heaviest trout and the winner of the heaviest redfin.

There will also be a mystery prize for an Eel.

Free drinks and icypoles will be available for all children.

After a successful inaugural year, this fun social event will no doubt again attract a large number of competitors and supporters.

Fishing is done from the bank (hoses rocks), off any of the public jetties around the park or from a boat or kayak.

This year the club will offer an addition prize of $100 to the first person to catch and weigh a redfin of 50cm or more (conditions apply).
