Two trapped in single vehicle crash
EMERGENCY services were called to the scene of an accident in Scotts Creek at approximately 2am on Saturday, May 30.
Victoria Police, Victoria State Emergency Service (VICSES) and Ambulance Victoria all attended the scene, where it is understood a single vehicle left the road and struck a tree on Timboon-Colac Road at about 1.55am.
“VICSES Cobden Unit volunteers were called to reports of a vehicle crash near Scotts Creek on Saturday morning,” a VICSES spokesperson said.
“Upon arrival, crews found two persons trapped inside a vehicle and worked to safely extricate them.
“Crews gained access through the vehicle’s rear and roof.
“One person was immediately able to be extricated through the vehicle’s roof, while crews used a winch system to right the vehicle and successfully extricate the second patient before transferring them into the care of paramedics.”

An Ambulance Victoria spokesperson said a specialist Air Ambulance Victoria helicopter crew, Mobile Intensive Care Ambulance (MICA) and Advanced Life Support (ALS) paramedic crews attended the scene.
“A primary school aged boy was transported by road ambulance to Warrnambool Hospital in a stable condition with minor injuries,” the spokesperson said.
“A woman in her 30s was airlifted to The Alfred Hospital in a serious condition with upper body injuries.”
A Victoria Police spokesperson said the investigation remains ongoing.
