Uneven performance continues for V/Line
V/LINE performance on the Warrnambool line last month continued its trend of mixed performance as the end is in sight for upgrades which had impacted service punctuality.

The reliability performance on the Warrnambool line reached 95 per cent of services running throughout May, just one per cent below the monthly performance target.
The punctuality result was recorded at 54.1 per cent of services within 11 minutes of expected times, below the punctuality target of 92 per cent.
Track Force Protection and temporary speed restrictions were in place along sections of the line to ensure the safety of workers while allowing trains to run at the same time.
A V/Line spokesperson said there was also two serious incidents requiring emergency services during May, which further led to significant delays and cancellations on the Warrnambool Line.
Major works are taking place during winter as part of Stage 2 of the Warrnambool Line Upgrade, which includes upgrades to train detection technology at 53 public level crossings along the line over the next two months.
“Major works are taking place during winter as crews upgrade the Warrnambool Line to enable modern, reliable VLocity trains to run to and from Warrnambool for the first time,” the spokesperson said.
“We thank passengers for their patience and understanding during these works and encourage them to check the V/Line website to plan their journeys.
“We have completed upgrades on 36 level crossings to make them compatible with VLocity trains, with the remaining 17 to be completed during the winter construction blitz currently underway until Sunday August 25.
“These level crossings include Seymour Street, Terang-Mortlake Road and Shadforth Road in Terang, with the upgrades at Seymour Street to include the installation of boom gates, bells and flashing lights.”
Passengers are encouraged to check the V/Line website to view temporary coach replacement timetables.
