From February 6 for approximately five weeks, an 800-metre section of Timboon-Colac Road will be rebuilt approximately two kilometres north east of Timboon.

Crews will be on site from Monday to Friday between 7am and 5pm, with the possibility of weekend work.

Disruptions will include one lane, two-way traffic management, with traffic travelling on a single lane through the work site.

There will be temporary traffic lights, electronic message boards, reduced speed limits and delays of up to five minutes when moving through the site.

Traffic management crews will be on site to help traffic move through the area while important works are underway.

Rehabilitation and rebuilding works will also be taking place at a 1.3-kilometre section of Colac-Forrest Road approximately five kilometres east of Colac and at a 1.3-kilometre section of Deans Marsh-Lorne Road approximately two kilometres south of Deans Marsh.

The Victorian Government has invested $255 million to the Great Ocean Road and its inland routes.

This includes $115 million to upgrade inland routes between the Great Ocean Road and the Princes Highway.

In addition to these works, dairy supply chain road upgrades are underway to enhance the road infrastructure supporting the dairy industry in the south west.

Big Build Roads is upgrading about six kilometres of road across two sites on behalf of Transport Victoria, including Cobden-Stonyford Road at Cobden and Bullaharre.

As part of the upgrades, Big Build Roads will rehabilitate pavement, install new safety barriers, upgrade existing vehicle pull-out bays and install new signage and line marking.

These upgrades will improve safety for all road users, support local agricultural activities, ensure a more efficient, reliable journey for freight vehicles to transport dairy products to domestic and international markets and cater for future growth in passenger and freight vehicle volumes in south west Victoria.

Cobden-Stonyford Road is currently closed to complete works and a detour is in place via Princes Highway and Camperdown-Cobden Road.

Transport Victoria advises road users to look out for changed traffic conditions, plan ahead and allow extra time for their journey.

They advise allowing an extra 10 minutes for your journey.

Planning is also underway to upgrade about three kilometres of Princes Highway West at Pirron Yallock.

As planning progresses, further information about the timing for construction will be provided to the community.

These upgrades are part of the $37.7 million Dairy Supply Chain Road Upgrades Project jointly funded by the Australian and Victorian Governments.
