V/Line’s streak continues

TRAINS on the Warrnambool Line remained among the best on the V/Line network after hitting performance targets for the ninth consecutive month.

Trains operating on the Warrnambool Line recorded 99.7 per cent reliability for the month, exceeding the 96 per cent monthly reliability target for the 13th consecutive month.

The Warrnambool Line was one of the best performing lines on the V/Line network for punctuality in November, with 96.3 per cent of services arriving at their destination on time – comfortably exceeding the 92 per cent monthly punctuality target. 

A V/Line spokesperson said November marked the ninth consecutive month, and tenth time in 2025, in which trains on the Warrnambool Line have reached both the punctuality and reliability monthly targets. 

“The Warrnambool Line has again exceeded monthly reliability and punctuality targets in November, making it the ninth consecutive month the line has achieved this result,” the spokesperson said.

“The Christmas-New Year holiday period is always a busy time for travel on the Warrnambool Line, especially with free weekend travel this summer.

“We continue to encourage passengers to plan ahead and make a reservation before travelling.”

Passengers can enjoy free weekend travel across Victoria’s public transport network until February 1.

Passengers planning to travel on the Warrnambool Line over the summer period are encouraged to plan ahead and make a reservation in advance by booking online, at a staffed V/Line or premium Metro station, calling 1800 800 007 or by visiting a retail ticket agent.
