Van Diemen wins stableford
LOCAL golfers Richard van Diemen and Steve Hubbard took out the aggregate stableford event at Mortlake Golf Club late last month.
Van Diemen (16) and Hubbard (18) finished the December 28 event on 73 points, ahead of runners-up Peter Palmer (9) and Kevin Etherton (9) on 68 points.
Nearest the pins: 3/12 Ben Boers, 6/15 Kevin Etherton and 9/18 Hamish Weatherly.
Balls down the line went to Craig Fowler and Hamish Weatherly (64), Ian Jubb and Merv Hampson (63), and Ben Boers and Jake Last (51).
The nine-hole twilight event on December 27 was won by Peter Palmer 39-5-34.
Steve Hubbard was runner-up on 11-46-35 on countback from Garry Whitehead 14-49-35.
Nearest the pin on the 9th was Jake Last.
The stroke monthly medal (privilege cup) on Saturday, January 4 was won by Hamish Weatherly 4-76-72 on countback from Peter Palmer 9-81-72.
Nearest the pins: 3/12 Ben Boers, 6/15 Kevin Etherton and 9/18 Peter Palmer.
Balls down the line went to Ben Boers, Gary Glossop and Merv Hampson.
NAGA was won by Kevin Etherton.
Last Saturday, January 11, Andy Casson (18) and Wes Wareham (15) finished on 73 points to win the aggregate stableford last Saturday, January 11.
Runners-up were Kurt Robertson (8) and Kevin Etherton (8) on 71.
The best individual score went to Paul Wareham on 44 points (71 gross).

Last Friday, January 10, was a nine-hole twilight.
