Vandalism: police appeal for witnesses
POLICE have put a call out for witnesses after a spate of vandalism has marred a number of locations throughout Terang.
POLICE have put a call out for witnesses after a spate of vandalism has marred a number of locations throughout Terang.
Terang police station senior constable Mel Gray said the instances of vandalism had all occurred recently.
Among the locations vandalised was extensive graffiti at the train station and structural damage at the rotunda and fence line on The Promenade.
“We had reports of graffiti at the train station platform with spray paint, which included obscenities,” Snr Const Gray said.
“That was a few weeks ago now."
“Then there was damage to the rotunda, which happened over the weekend of July 9-10."
“There has also been another spot damaged with graffiti, mostly smaller tags, popping up around the town.”
Snr Const Gray said the vandalism had predominantly occurred around The Promenade and the walking track area behind the Apex Park and Civic Centre.
She called for witnesses or anyone with security footage from around the area to come forward, and for parents to remain vigilant if their children may be in possession of items such as spray paint.
“If anyone knows of any information which could help us to identify the persons involved, that would be great,” Snr Const Gray said.
“Anyone with information can contact the Terang police station or Crime Stoppers.”
The Terang police station can be reached on 5592 1058 and Crime Stoppers 1800 333 000.
