Vehicle slams into house
A HOUSE on Curdie Street in Camperdown has received significant structural damage following a vehicle collision last Saturday.
Corangamite Senior Sergeant Bill Caldow said police were called to the incident on Saturday, May 31 at around 5.15pm.
Ambulance Victoria units as well as the Camperdown Country Fire Authority (CFA) and State Emergency Services (SES) also attended.
“A Camperdown man in his 80s was driving his Kia wagon in an easterly direction along Lawrence Street, Camperdown,” he said.
“He slowed down but, near the intersection of Lawrence and Curdie Streets, had a collision with another car.
“His vehicle then continued on into Lawrence Street and crashed into the front corner of a house.
“For a little while, his foot was stuck on the accelerator after he crashed.
“The driver in his 80s was rather dazed.”
No-one was transferred to hospital by ambulance, with all persons treated on scene.
Police are conducting further inquiries into the incident and will also follow up on the welfare of the driver.
