Venn wins monthly medal

A FIELD of 26 golfers contested the stroke monthly medal for May at the Terang Golf Club.


Liam Venn (6) 70-76 won the May medal and A grade from runner-up Paddy O’Connor (14) 73-87.

B grade was won by Kerrie Cakebread (52) 70-122 from Sharee Scanlon (q5) 70-85.

Down the line went to Lachlan Venn (30) 73-103, Terry Beasley (26) 73-99 and Tyler Beasley (5) 73-78.

Nearest the pins: 3rd Tyler Beasley, 6th Tim Keane, 8th Tyler Beasley and 11th Mick Scanlon.

Liam Venn won putting with 24 putts.

Sunday’s 18-hole stableford was won by Cate Glennon (15) 32 points on countback from runner-up Jason Karney (20) 32.

This weekend will be stableford both days.

Forty-one players competed in an all-day Thursday stableford competition last week.

The ladies’ winner was Maureen Bond with 40 points on countback from Aileen Clarke, who was runner-up with 40.

Balls down the line: Jo Arundell 36 and Judy Carmody 35.

Nearest the pins: 6th Margie Driscoll, 9th and 11th Jo Arundell.

Winner of the 18-hole event was Chris Coolahan 36 points from Ross Thompson on 35.

Balls down the line went to Caleb Perry 34 points, Kerry Clarke 34 on countback from Glenn Driscoll.

Nearest the pins: 3rd Peter McSween and 8th Gary Marr.

Winner of the nine-hole event was Danny Kenna on 21 points followed by Frank O’Connor on 19.

The women’s division one team, comprising Sharee Scanlon, Kate Glennon, Marion Venn, Margie Driscoll and Jo Arundell, lost to Warrnambool 3-2.

All players are welcome to play in the all-day Thursday competitions; women’s 9.30am-10.30am, 18 and nine hole all-day events.
