Veteran golfers head to Winchelsea
THIRTY-TWO Corangamite veterans travelled to Winchelsea last Tuesday.
The fortnightly stableford event saw Rob Phillips, from Birregurra, win A grade with 40 points.
He was followed by Winchelsea’s Max Bubb on 36 points, with third place going to John Hoiles (Birregurra) on 34.
NAGA went to Bill Finlayson from the Timboon club.
In the B grade competition, Birregurra’s John Lyons won on 38 points, with Tara Stewart (Winchelsea) the runner-up on 35 on a countback from Denise Chappell 35.
NAGA went to Peter Collihole from Birregurra.
The next event was held on Tuesday, December 3 at the Cobden Golf Club.
This was be a stableford event.
On this day all players could nominate either the blue tee or the red tee to play-off, with handicaps adjusted accordingly.
Playing off the red tee would take all except one of the creek crossings out of play.
