Veterans enjoy Peterborough course
A LARGE group of veteran golfers enjoyed a round at the Peterborough course last week.
on Tuesday (February 3) for a stableford competition.
Before playing, president Graham Clifford asked members to stand in silence in memory of Denis Waterford, who recently passed away.
Dennis was a long-time member who was always positive and happy, and would help out at any club, any time.
Results from last week’s competition:
A grade – winner Dennis Chappell (Birregurra) on 43 points, runner-up Peter Tankred (Colac) 39, third Karen Matherson (Peterborough) 39 on countback.
NAGA was Steven Ashworth.
B grade – winner Brian Smith (Cobden) 43 on countback, runner-up Ewan McKenzie (Peterborough) 43, third Josette Razbocan (Peterborough) 41.
NAGA was Gary Lafferty.
The next event will be held in Hamilton next Monday, February 16. This will be the Glenelg v Corangamite Challenge.
All players are asked to lodge their entry prior to the day to assist with running of the event.
Organisers will need to know golf link numbers from each player, whether walking or in a cart (if in cart, the name of players who will be sharing the cart).
This will be 9.30am for a 10am shotgun start.
The cost will cover lunch on the go and a light afternoon tea.
