Vets enjoy Lake Bolac course
CORANGAMITE veteran golfers were hosted by Lake Bolac Golf Club on May 27.
Forty-one players enjoyed the day and it was great to see the club in good condition.
Like all clubs, Lake Bolac would also like to see more rain to help with course presentation.
Results from the day were as follows:
A grade – winner Darren Smith (Timboon) 37 points, runner-up Max Bubb (Winchelsea) 33 on countback from Bruce Waterson (Warrnambool) 33.
NAGA Daryl Dunford (Chalambar) on 20.
B grade – winner Brian Smith (Cobden) 36, runner-up Richard Van Diemen (Mortlake) 34 from Terry Coolan (Terang) 33.
NAGA Trevor Gardner (Cobden) 20.
Nearest the pins: 2nd/11th Bruce Waterson (Warrnambool), 8th/17th golden hole Andrew Burrows (Camperdown), second shot on 9th Bill Bopddington (Colac).
Upcoming events: Monday, June 9 – East Framlingham (two-person ambrose); Monday, June 23 – Mortlake (stableford – this has been transferred from the Skipton Golf Club).
Anyone wishing to try vets golf is asked to contact their club liaison officer.
Players must be over the age of 55 years, hold a Golf Australia handicap and travel to one of the events, which are held fortnightly.
