Victory for right handers
EIGHTEEN players braved the cool weather on Saturday to take part in the lefties v righties stableford at the Cobden Golf Club.
Fourteen right handers averaged 27.21 points, defeating the four left handers who averaged 23.0.
A grade was won by C. Sargeant on 36 points, with D. Absalom the runner-up on 35.
Nearest the pins: 4th S. Dawson, 7th A. Holster, closest second on the 14th D. Sargeant.
This Saturday will be 4BBB stableford.
While the weather has interrupted the winter golf competitions at Cobden recently, members were pleased to see a warm 18 degrees last Wednesday which allowed players to run the June monthly medal.
Seven players contested the stroke, medal, putting and final of the silver spoon.
Winning of the day and earning the June medal was Chloe Healey who had a good round to finish on 95-24-71.
Chloe was also winner of the Cobden Silver Spoon for this year.
The runner-up was Ellen Darcy on 73 nett; she also won the putting for the day with 29.
Nearest the pins: 4th Chloe Healey, 7th Sherine Healey and 10th Ellen Darcy.
Balls down the line went to Janine Stevens on 79 nett.
