Now in its fourth year, the vintage weekend will feature a wide array of vintage farm machinery, tractors and classic cars and trucks for antiquarians to enjoy.

Western Plains Machinery Preservation Group Inc. member Stephen Ringe said there were many attractions for people of all ages, including the tractor pull and rally.

“There will also be an agricultural machinery working display’” he said.

“Unfortunately we won’t have our steam engine this year.

“We’ve got a tractor towing with a draft cutter on it – that’ll be something a bit different.

“There’ll be some Shetland ponies for the kids to hand feed and pat – they’ll be able to buy a little punnet of horse feed and feed the ponies.

“The Derrinallum Social Group will be there providing hot food through their barbecue shed.”

The event, which will be held on Saturday, February 22 and Sunday, February 23, will also include various displays of stationery engines, working farm machinery, sheep shearing, displays of members’ collections, and a display from the Derrinallum and Lismore Community Association History Group.

A variety of children’s activities will also be available on the day to entertain the younger vintage enthusiasts.

Gates will open at the Lismore Showgrounds on Seymour Street from 9am-4pm Saturday and 9am-2pm Sunday.

Entry is $5 per person.

Mr Ringe said the Western Plains Machinery Preservation Group hopes people could come along and “join in the fun”.
