FARMERS looking for a fun family outing are invited to Western Plains Machinery Preservation Group’s second annual Vintage Machinery Display and Vintage Tractor Pull.

FARMERS looking for a fun family outing are invited to Western Plains Machinery Preservation Group’s second annual Vintage Machinery Display and Vintage Tractor Pull.
The event promises a variety of attractions, including working displays, displays of vintage tractors, cars, harvesters, wool pressers and stationary engines, a variety of tools, toys, antiques and more.
“Our group is a relatively new club, and we’re now getting off the ground,” event organiser Nathan Micalles said.
“We’re hoping to be bigger and better.”
Western Plains Machinery Preservation Group decided to include a variety of new attractions following last year’s good attendance.
“This includes a display from the Victorian Land Rover club, as well as scale replicas of steam engines,” Mr Micalles said.
“A variety of local businesses and historical groups will also have booths running at the event.”
The event will roar to life from Saturday, February 25 at 9am.
The main attraction will be the tractor pull, beginning at 10.30am on Saturday and running until 3.30pm, with an hour-long break beginning at 12.30pm.
Sunday’s pull event begins at 10:30am and finishes at 1pm.
Entry is $5 per person (children free), which will be held at the newly-renovated Lismore Showgrounds on Seymour Street.
The event runs between 9am and 4pm on Saturday and 9am and 2pm on Sunday, with bump-ins on both days starting at 8am.
Limited camping is available for $10 but booking is required.
