Vital final rounds for Power
THE final two rounds of the Warrnambool District home and away season will prove vital to Kolora Noorat’s chances of playing finals footy.
The Power currently sits sixth on the ladder, equal on points but percentage behind the fifth-placed Dennington.
The last two rounds will see Power face the second-placed Merrivale this weekend before finishing the home and away season against Russells Creek (third).
The draw will see Dennington face top side Nirranda this Saturday followed by Merrivale the week after.
The Power showed they are worthy of a finals show, defeating Dennington by 34 points in front of a home crowd last Saturday.
Final scores were Kolora Noorat 10.2.62 to Dennington 3.10.28.
Tyler Beasley and Jack Vaughan were effective kicking three goals each while George Beasley, Louis Cahill, Stephen O’Connor and Sam Uwland kicked one apiece.
Among the best were Charlie Scanlon, Sam Uwland, Caleb Kavanagh, Jack Aitken, Tyler Beasley and Stephen O’Connor.
The Power’s reserves also sit sixth on the ladder but two games behind the fifth-placed Dennington.
Final scores last weekend were Kolora Noorat 5.5.35 to Dennington 4.6.30.
Craig King, Tom Godber, Tyler Friswell, Henry Kenna, Fraser Guthrie and Paul McSween were best for the side.
Goals went to Craig King (2), Brad Holmes, Arthur O’Neill and Rhys Scott.
The under 18s, also sixth and two games out of the five, celebrated a 52-point win over Dennington, 10.13.73 to 3.3.21.
Ted Kenna and Oscar Ritchie kicked three goals each while Damon Anders kicked two. William Kenna and Jack Smerdon added one each.
Among the best for the side were Damon Anders, Ted Kenna, William Kenna, Lucas Castersen, Max Kavanagh and Oscar Ritchie.
Kolora Noorat’s netballers are also looking at finals, with A grade currently sitting in fourth, the 17 and under side in third and the 13 and unders in fifth.

A grade – Kolora Noorat defeated Dennington 35-33.
A reserve – Dennington defeated Kolora Noorat 44-33.
B grade – Dennington defeated Kolora Noorat 37-29.
17 and under – Kolora Noorat defeated Dennington 48-14.
15 and under – Dennington defeated Kolora Noorat 26-20.
13 and under- Kolora Noorat defeated Dennington 25-17.
