Volleyball gap closes
LADDER leaders Cooriemungle Bulls are feeling the heat as both Poachers and NOBTS make bids for top position.
Results for round six:
Slugs defeated Ballbusters 2-1; NOBTS drew with Bulls 2-1; Bulls defeated Slugs 4-0; Poachers defeated Pirates 5-0; NOBTS defeated Stallions 2-1; Poachers defeated Ballbusters 3-1; and Stallions defeated Pirates 4-1.
The Bulls lowered their colours to NOBTS in round 6, just one week after their first loss for the season against Poachers.
With three rounds to go before finals, the fight is on in earnest for top-of-the-table bragging rights.
After a slow start to the season, NOBTS certainly took on and beat tough opposition on Tuesday night.
They are showing they will be a force to be reckoned with in the remaining rounds.
Although only fourth on the ladder, Stallions will be worthy A grade finalists.
They were competitive against NOBTS before easily taking care of Pirates.
Slugs are now challenging Pirates for B grade leadership.
While finding the Bulls far too accomplished, Slugs widened the gap between themselves and seventh team Ballbusters with a 2-1 win.
