WITH some surprise results on the volleyball court last week, there is nothing between the top four Corangamite volleyball teams.

Fourth-placed Stallions thrashed the Bulls, who then soundly defeated ladder leaders NOBTS.

While this took place, Poachers played and defeated two lower teams and are now sitting on top of the table on percentage.

Stallions began the season three weeks late but will play havoc in the last few rounds of the winter competition – and could even be flag favourites.

One of the pleasing aspects of this season has been the improvement in Rascals, the newest and youngest team.

While yet to crack a win, they are far more skilful and now have the ability to keep the ball in play for extended periods.

Round six results:

Poachers def. Rascals 4-0, Stallions def. Slugs 4-0, Bulls def. NOBTS 3-1, Poachers def. Ballbusters 3-1, NOBTS drew with Ballbusters 2-2, Slugs def. Rascals 3-0 and Stallions def. Bulls 3-0.

Ladder:

Poachers 36, NOBTS 36, Bulls 34, Stallions 20, Slugs 20, Ballbuster 8, Rascals 0.
