Around 170 people attended the concert over the weekend, experiencing operatic classics such as the Thieving Magpie Oveture and O Mio Babbino Caro.

Corangamite Shire Council events and creative industries team leader Tammy Young said the VSCO made Camperdown a stop in their regional tour.

“They actually were doing a regional tour and approached us because they’ve been here before and loved the theatre, so they wanted to come along and perform here again,” she said.

“It was a nice way for the residents of Corangamite to experience the orchestra and some fantastic music without having to travel.

“We’ve had nothing but good feedback. The music was amazing.

“It was a great prelude to the Robbie Burns Festival this weekend, with a lot of people coming back.”

Ms Young extended her gratitude to two local groups who contributed to the night.

“The Girl Guides had a bake stall there, so people were able to buy afternoon tea,” she said.

“We also had Gluten House there with their treats and tea and coffee.”
