Wannon awards for students
THREE Camperdown College students have received a Wannon Sport Award from local member, Dan Tehan.
Mr Tehan presented several ‘Wannon Sport Awards’ during a special ceremony in Colac last Friday morning.
Camperdown students Athena Chivell (outstanding achievements in athletics), Keira Johnson (lawn bowls) and Stella Horspole (equestrian) were among those acknowledged for their sporting success and achievements.
“During the presentation ceremony, our young sports women were privileged to hear Olympian and world record holder Judy Pullock speak of her own achievements in athletics,” Camperdown College assistant principal Katie Taylor said.
“Mrs Pullock even joked with Athena about the differences between Athena’s expertise in sprinting compared to her own strengths in the 400m and 800m events.
“Congratulations to all three students for the dedication and excellence they have demonstrated so far in their chosen fields.”
