Weatherly leads championship
AFTER two rounds of competition, Hamish Weatherly currently leads the club championships at Mortlake Golf Club.
Weatherly finished on 74-47-148, followed by Slade Palmer 78-71-149, Kurt Robertson 84-78-162 and Peter Palmer 80-83-163.
B grade saw Gary Glossop lead on 90-97-187 followed by Will Berryman 91-97-198.
The winner of A grade last Saturday, May 9 was Kurt Robertson 9-78-69 on countback from Todd Robertson 16-85-69.
Nearest the pins: 3/12 Charles Kenny, 6/15 Kurt Robertson and 9/18 Jordan Wareham.
Balls down the line went to Hamish Weatherly, Rob Field, Slade Palmer, Peter Palmer, Paul Wareham and Gary Glossop.
The Farmers’ Day three-person ambrose last Friday, May 8, attracted a field of 48 players despite the cool conditions.
Scratch winners were Peter, Scott and Slade Palmer on 65.
The handicap was won by Clint Baker, Garry Whitehead and James Gill on 11-70-59.
The runners-up were Matt Ballinger, Tony Williams and Ian Emerson on 13.5-76-62.5.
