Welcomed rainfall

OCTOBER saw a healthy amount of rainfall hitting the ground over Cobden, breaking free of a long-term pattern of below-average rainfall over the past several months.

With 102.4mm of rain falling over Cobden during October, this exceeds the long-term average of 79.3mm for the month.

The highest daily rainfall was recorded on October 27, when 19.8mm of rain hit the ground.

The result also well exceeded the total rainfall seen at the same time last year, where October 2024 saw only 58.4mm of rain over Cobden.

With the total annual rainfall to the end of October reaching 559.8mm of rain, Cobden has almost reached the entire yearly total of rainfall seen in 2024, which was 561.5mm, with two more months to go until the end of 2025.

However, this is still well below the long-term average of 718.2mm of rain calculated over the same period.
