Wet conditions for cyclists
CAMPERDOWN cyclists battled puddles, puddles and more puddles all over the course last Thursday for the second last race of the season.

The weather was gloomy but that didn’t dampen the spirit of the night.
It was the scratch bunch that crossed the line first, with Josh winning in a time of 9.00 followed by Oliver within a second to claim second place.
Oliver recorded a time of 9.01.
Finn held on to third place with a time of 9.19.
Other times recorded included Quinn in 10.04, Nathaniel 11.22, Lawson 12.22, Rieley 12.29, Zane 10.12 and Ava 11.57.
The Camperdown club runs on the help of volunteer parents.
Last week the parents stepped out of their comfort zone and took on different roles on race night.
Many thanks to all those who continue to support the kids in the club.
This includes driving support vehicles, putting out signs, time keeping and photography for socials.
It was a wet senior bike race last Thursday night, with safety a priority (especially around the corners).
All riders came together by the racecourse, with Shaun Thompson blowing apart the bunch in an early effort.
Shaun claimed first place ahead of Oliver Clark and Josh Thompson.
Having been dropped by Shaun, all other riders were largely spread apart by the finish line.
Finn Baxter came in fourth, followed by Zane Vogels in fifth.
Matt Clarke and Tania McKenzie crossed the line in sixth and seventh positions.
Everyone involved had a great race despite the conditions.
This was the final seniors race for the summer series.
The club is now aiming to increase its numbers over the winter months and have a healthy competitive number of riders for both junior and senior races.
Anyone keen to join is encouraged to contact the club.
