White wins under the dome

MORTLAKE White has won its way through to the preliminary finals of division two after a win last weekend.

The team defeated Koroit 2 Saints at City Memorial under ‘the dome.’

Mortlake got off to a great start and continued to pile on the shots before Koroit began picking up multiple shots per end.

With three ends to go, Mortlake was up by 10 and finished with a 61-59 win.

R Draffen lost to R Farley 15-18, Colin Inverarity def. Glen Keane 27-11 and Paul Delaney lost to Tom O’Shannessy 19-30.

Congratulations to Mortlake White on the win and they will now move on to the preliminary finals.

Spectators are encouraged to go to Warrnambool BC this Saturday and take their cheering voices.

Last week was Tuesday social pennant semi-finals day.

Mortlake White played Timboon and Mortlake Blue played Camperdown at Mortlake.

Results:

Mortlake Blue lost to Camperdown 35-43.

P Delaney def. L Pearson 28-11, D Murray lost to F Salmon 7-32.

Commiserations to Mortlake Blue and congratulations to Mortlake White.

Next Tuesday will be the grand final between Mortlake White and Camperdown.

Bowls action will start at 11am, all welcome.

Last Sunday the men’s B grade semi-finals and finals were played.

In the quarter Finals, Richard Draffen def. John Tanner, Colin Inverarity lost to Scott Pierce, Anthony Wood went through to the semi-finals and Dwayne Dolling def. Dean McKenzie.

In the semi-finals, Richard Draffen lost to Scott Pierce and Anthony Wood lost to Dwayne Dolling.

The final, played last Sunday afternoon, was a tug-of-war and the match was 12-all at one point.

Congratulations to 2024-25 men’s B grade champion Scott Pierce and well done to runner-up Dwayne Dolling.
