Wind farm works start

TERANG-MORTLAKE Road users are advised to be aware of roadworks set to take place over this month to make way for the Mortlake South Wind Farm (MSWF).
Wind farm developer ACCIONA Energy has engaged John Beever Australia to complete the civil works package.
The contractors reduced Terang-Mortlake Road to one lane earlier this week near the intersection with Tapps Lane.
Workers also put a 40kmh speed restriction and a traffic light system into place.
Contractors have also started further roadworks along Grinters Lane and Tapps Lane to prepare the MSWF site for main construction works next year.
Local contractors have built the platform for the site’s compound facilities on Tapps Lane, including offices, ablution blocks, lunchroom and car parking for the construction team.
Following the public road upgrades, works would then begin on the internal tracks and wind turbine foundations, in preparation for the delivery and on-site assembly of the 35 turbines in early 2020.
