Winning round for Beames

TIMBOON golfers competed in a stableford round at the club last Saturday.

A grade was won by Darryle Beames with 38 points, followed by Peter Cashmore on 37 and Chris Huffadine on 36.

Ivan Barlow finished on 48 points to win B grade ahead of Barry Cook and Andrew Gaut both on 36.

Nearest the pins: 5th Cody Noonan, 7th Chris Huffadine, 10th Steve Plozza and 14th Mick Plozza.

Chris Huffadine won a ball for his second shot to the 11th and Ivan Barlow won a ball with an eagle on his second shot to the 13th.

Thursday’s 12-hole chicken day was won by Darryle Beames with 27 points, from Mick Plozza, also on 27.

Nearest the pin was Kevin Plozza.

A Good Friday Appeal Golf Day will be held this Friday (three-person).

Registrations will be taken at 10am, with a shotgun start at 10.30am.

Saturday will be stableford.

Ten ladies participated in a gentsome stableford event.

The winners were June Ayres and Lynne Newton on 73 points, followed by Judy and Steph Delaney on 69 – on countback from Glenda Holland and Peter Delaney.

Nearest the pin on the 10th was Lynne Newton.

The Ellen Rayner Bowl was held on April 4.

The winners were Judy Walsh, Linda McKenzie, Alison Walsh and Donna Weller (Timboon 2) on 139 points.

The runners-up were Thelma Inverarity, Barb Hill, Gwenda Malseed and Sue Henderson (East Framlingham 3) 139 points on countback.

Balls down the line went to Cheryl Carroll, Pam Clarke, Michelle Blain and Carol Parsons.

The winner of A grade was Alison Sinclair 36 points on countback from Marion Venn.

B grade was won by Carol Parson (Port Fairy) on 38 points.
