Winning streak continues for Bulls
POMBORNEIT’S division one team continued its winning streak with a solid if unconvincing win over Woorndoo at MCP Oval.

Matt Bignell and Dave Murphy put on a strong opening stand of 92 before Murphy was dismissed for 38 in the 17th over.
Skipper Bignell made his second half century in a row, but when he was dismissed for 55 from 63 balls the Bulls found it hard to put partnerships together.
A patient 22 from Sam Darcy was the only real score from the rest of the order as the Bulls were bowled out in the 50th over for 191.
Woorndoo threatened at times in their run chase but fell short at 7/157.
Tom Darcy took two wickets while Tharaka Sendanayake, with 1/12, and Finn Tolland, with 1/13, both bowled well in their respective seven over spells.
The division two Bulls won the toss and sent Heytesbury/Princetown in at Timboon.
They claimed a wicket with the first ball of the match.
The home team put together a strong 81 run partnership for the third wicket, before the Pomborneit bowlers consistently took wickets, eventually dismissing the home team for 109 in the 36th over.
New ball bowlers Gavin Reynolds (3/12) and Simon Day (3/14) were superb, while Charlie Voutier finished the innings off with the last two wickets.
The Bulls never got going, all out in the 33rd over. Luke Reynolds with 21 and Jack Heanly with a patient 20 the top scorers.
Pomborneit’s division three team had a day to forget, all out for just 46 against Heytesbury/Princetown (the opposition passing the total in the 12th over).

Maroon made the home team work hard for their runs but Tomahawk Creek passed their score in the 15th over.
Opening bowlers Isabella Wain, with 3/8 from four overs, and Lily Van Es with 1/20 from four were particularly impressive and gave Maroon early hope, while Charlotte Richardson also took two wickets.
Pomborneit’s under 17 boys are through to the semi-finals after a 22 run win in the qualifying final against Alvie at MCP Oval on Tuesday night.

George Sadler top scored with 22 retired from 30 balls, Levi Cootesmith did well against some good bowling batting at number four with 15 retired from 30 balls, while Patrick Spokes finished the innings off well with 16 not out from 20 balls.
The Bulls then bowled Alvie out for 93.
Noah Riches took 1/6 from five overs, before spin duo Josh Reynolds, with 3/11, and Fletcher Tolland with 3/14, did the bulk of the damage in their respective five over spells.
