Women’s Health Expo to launch

TERANG and Mortlake Health Service (TMHS) will be hosting a free women’s health expo next month in a bid to support connection.

The Women’s Health Expo aims to provide a fantastic opportunity for women across Terang, Mortlake, Kolora, Noorat and surrounding areas to come together for a day dedicated to health, wellness and laughter.

The event combines expert health advice with interactive activities which are designed to inspire, educate and entertain.

The day will include a keynote performance from comedian Jean Kittson, bringing humour and heart to important women’s health topics.

National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Women’s Alliance chief executive officer Wendy Anders and associate professor Misha Coleman will also be in attendance as experts in areas of women’s health.

Highlights will also include local story telling, a lively sponge making competition encouraging creativity and opportunities to connect with community health services and support networks.

TMHS health promotion officer Michelle Dowden said the Women’s Health Expo would provide a fun and supportive environment for south west residents to meet and discuss their health concerns.

“We’re delighted to welcome Jean Kittson to this year’s expo,” she said.

“Her warmth and wit will help break down barriers around women’s health conversations,” she said.

“Plus, the sponge making competition adds a fun, hands-on element that everyone can enjoy.

“This free event invites all women to join in a supportive and engaging atmosphere where health and happiness go hand in hand.”

The Terang and Mortlake Health Service Women’s Health Expo will be held on Saturday, October 25 from 12noon-5pm at the Kolora Noorat Football Netball Club rooms.
