Works coming: Rough surface warning signs like this have appeared across Darlington, Derrinallum and Lismore in recent weeks.

The yellow ‘rough surface’ signs stretch from 5.2km south-west of Darlington to near the Lismore-Skipton Road intersection on the Hamilton Highway.

The signs are part of upcoming works along the Hamilton Highway, which form part of the Department of Transport and Planning (DTP)’s planned maintenance patching program.

DTP executive director Barwon South West and Grampians Michael Bailey said the signage was in response to routine inspection of the road network.

“We’re delivering patching works on Hamilton Highway to create a smoother, more reliable surface for drivers,” he said.

“We thank the local community for their patience while we complete these works, and we remind drivers take extra care and slow down for the safety of our road workers.”
