Corangamite Shire manager works Peter Rogers said council’s works team is constructing a new transfer pad at Cobden aerodrome.
“The pad will facilitate loading for agricultural pilots who carry out chemical and fertiliser aerial spraying and spreading, as well as for aerial firefighting purposes,” he said.
“The project comprises 1365 square metres of new asphalt and includes the circular pad, plus a 90m connection to the runway.
“This is a new addition to the Cobden aerodrome to complement the normal airside usage by light aircraft and the existing transfer pad for the Air Ambulance activities.”
