Generous donation ahead of Noorat Show
FOLLOWING a record crowd of almost 10,000 visitors in 2023, Noorat is again readying itself for an influx of show-goers this Saturday, November 16.

Celebrating its 90th year, the Noorat Shows enjoys a strong reputation for being a great day out for families, successfully bucking the trend of declining attendance numbers at agricultural shows across the state.
Newly-elected president Rob Onley said the show committee was blown away by how far people travelled to be part of the 2023 show and work began the next day to ensure this year’s show built on the show’s growing reputation as a good old-fashioned country show.
“While we always add something new to the program, at the end of the day our show is a great day out for families in a beautiful setting, and it’s only possible because of a dedicated group of supportive local sponsors and volunteers,” he said.
“We have families who’ve been coming for years and years, and we know show day is an important date on their calendars for catching up with friends and sharing the fun of show day with their children.
“I think that’s one of the big reasons why people keep coming back, even those who travel from interstate, but last year we also welcomed many new faces from Melbourne who wanted to experience a lively country show for the first time.”
Mr Onley said from classic cars to classic cakes and livestock classes to horse rings, the show did a good job at making sure there was something for everyone, even if that was simply enjoying a picnic with family and friends.
“Entries for our livestock and homecrafts competitions are strong, and we’re confident people will also enjoy the Nibble and Nosh Food Expo featuring local producers and makers on the kitchen stage, folk band Old Melbourne Road, crowd favourite the dog high-jump and children’s band The Mik Maks,” he said.
Among those getting in to the spirit of the show is Noorat Show committee member, Eric Hansford who has donated his prized Collingwood Magpies Guernsey to the show to be raffled off to a lucky winner.
Noorat Show tickets can be bought online at a discounted rate before show day and a new family pass is available for $30.
While children need a ticket, anyone aged 16-years and under can get theirs for free.
