Last season saw the club play for the first time in the top division of Warrnambool cricket.

Many pundits predicted that they would finish last, however up until the last round they were a chance to play finals.

Co-captains Tim Delaney and Bailey Kavenagh have been re-appointed leaders of the premier division team, which is a strong endorsement of the direction they are taking the club in, both on and off the field.

The division two team will have one change to its leadership, with Martin Wynd standing down and Sam Munro joining Liam Venn as co-captain.

Sam was a member of the championship premiership team in 2025/26.

Knee issues impacted him last season, with Munro playing an important part in the division four team at the end of the season where his batting came to the fore.

The division four Lions will be captained again by Toby Roberts, who last season was co-captain with Jack Kenna.

The club’s third XI played in the finals and tied their semi-finals match.

Young Ryan Mottram has been appointed captain of the Twenty20 side.

Last season was Ryan’s first at the club, where he was also a member of the association’s victorious Melbourne Country Week team.

Mottram was one of a number of young players that represented the Lions in the top division in 2025/26.
