New concert to celebrate resilience
A NEW event celebrating community resilience in the wake of the St Patrick’s Day Bushfires is set to bring Mary Bradshaw Avenue to life this weekend.
This Sunday the collective of members behind Terang Noorat Arts in the Avenues will bring vibrancy and community connectedness to Terang – free for the public to enjoy.
Committee members have been hard at work to conceptualise a special Twilight Concert, which will be hosted to mark the seven-year anniversary of the St Patrick’s Day Fires.
“The Terang Noorat Arts in the Avenues will host a special Twilight Concert on Sunday, March 16,” Terang Noorat Arts in the Avenues committee member Gabrielle O’Brien said.
“The event will commemorate the St Patrick's Day fires of 2018.
“This event honours the community’s resilience and creative recovery, which was supported by a grant following the devastating fires.
“This concert is a wonderful opportunity to come together as a community, celebrate local talent, and reflect on the resilience that helped the region recover from the fires.
“The Autumn Twilight Concert will kick off at 5.30pm, set in the picturesque avenue of Terang on High Street, near the rotunda with a diverse line-up of talented artists who will perform, including Tommy Harrold, Sue Gibbons, Madidi McKenzie and the Flamin’ 80’s – all of which is promising an evening of entertainment for all.”
The event is completely free to attend, with attendees encouraged to bring their own chairs, rugs, and picnics.
For those looking to enjoy some delicious food, Jun’s Kitchen and a coffee van will be present, offering tasty bites.
Additionally, Terang Seafood will be serving pizza, fish, and chips.
In case of inclement weather, the event will be relocated to the Returned and Services League Hall to ensure the festivities continue.
