New leader for Power

KOLORA-Noorat will have a new senior football coach in 2026 with the announcement that Shane Scanlon will take over the role after the current season.

Scanlon has previous exper-ience in the role as the last coach of Kolora in 2002 and the inaugural coach of Kolora-Noorat, as playing coach, in 2003 and 2004.

Serving as a senior assistant coach for the past two seasons, Scanlon has also been co-coach of the Power’s under 15 team in 2025.

The incoming coach will take over from Sam Uwland and Justin Wallace who have jointly held the role for the past two seasons.

“The timing has worked out ok, Sam and Justin now have really young families, whereas my kids are older,” Scanlon said.

“Sam and Justin have been fantastic for us, great leaders and great players, we hope they will stick around and continue to be part of what we are building.”

The shape of the Power’s list was a factor in Scanlon being keen to assume the reins.

“It’s a really good young group, our under 18s are strong which is pleasing, there's a lot to look forward to.”

“Ideally we will look to maintain the bulk of our group, keep promoting juniors and recruit where we can.”

Scanlon said it was important to make the announcement now with many clubs starting discussions with players and coaches.

The Power is yet to appoint its assistant coaches for 2026.

“The club is in a good place, we will be working hard to continue to build towards senior success.”
