The Allan Labor Government has provided funding to 40 agricultural and pastoral societies to deliver projects which families and visitors can enjoy.

Member for Western Victoria Jacinta Ermacora announced the recipients of the 2025 Agricultural and Pastoral Society Grants Program, supporting projects which bring communities together and promote Victoria’s agricultural industry.

Noorat and District Agricultural and Pastoral Society Inc was among the funding recipients with a $7,299.60 allocation.

The funding will be used to purchase new sheep panels.

Ms Ermacora said funds flowing to agricultural shows was vital for promoting the region.

“Agricultural shows literally showcase the best of our regional and rural lifestyles and highlight the importance of farming as we connect,” she said.

The program was designed to support projects and activities which promote agriculture, improving infrastructure and upgrading amenities for community use during annual agricultural shows and events – ensuring these shows remain a vibrant hub for families, volunteers, and visitors alike.

Successful applications were granted up to $10,000 to support infrastructure development and upgrades, with more than $300,000 granted to 40 societies across the state.

Minister for Agriculture Ros Spence said the funding would help to support keeping rural communities connected.

“Our shows are a wonderful showcase of Victoria’s agricultural sector, playing an important part in keeping communities connected and engaged,” she said.

“Helping regional communities thrive is at the heart of these grants.

“As a government, we’re proud to support initiatives that deliver real benefits and enable society to create events that bring their communities together.”
