Solid win for Power

ROUND three of the Warrnambool District League saw Kolora Noorat enjoy a solid 59-point win over Old Collegians last weekend.

In front of a home crowd on Saturday, the Power got off to a strong start, kicking 5.2 in the opening term while containing the visitors to just one behind.

By half-time the home side had a commanding 46-point lead and was showing strength across the ground, making good use of the footy and moving the ball well into their forward line.

The team was rewarded for its efforts on the final siren, taking the win 16.12.108 to 7.7.49.

Louis Cahill, Nick Castersen, Oscar Curran, Jack Aitken, Caleb Kavanagh and Aaron Robertson were named among the best.

Goals went to Louis Cahill and Nick Castersen (three each), George Beasley, Oscar Curran and Justin Wallace (two apiece), Jake Evans, Ted Kenna, Charlie Scanlon and Jack Vaughan.

The Power also showed strength in the reserves match, celebrating a 46-point win over Old Collegians, 10.11.71 to 3.7.25.

Best for the side were Fraser Guthrie, Riley Scanlon, Paul Messer, Tom Godber, Daniel Carr and Ryan Harvey.

Goals went to Riley Scanlon (4), Paul Messer (3), Michael Bell, Arthur O’Neill and Jack Pekin.

It was a mixed bag of results for the Power on the netball courts, winning four of the six games played.

A grade – Kolora Noorat defeated Old Collegians 48-31.

A reserve – Old Collegians defeated Kolora Noorat 48-18.

B grade – Kolora Noorat defeated Old Collegians 35-31.

17 and under – Kolora Noorat defeated Old Collegians 35-16.

15 and under – Old Collegians defeated Kolora Noorat 23-8.

13 and under – Kolora Noorat defeated Old Collegians 14-6.
